Franchise company bags double awards

RIDPEST Sdn Bhd won the SME ICT Adoption award while its associate company, Ridpest Franchise Sdn Bhd, bagged the Rising Star award at the SME Recognitio­n Award 2011 on Dec 8.

Internatio­nal Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed presented the awards to Ridpest general manager Winslow Wong and Ridpest Franchise, franchise developmen­t manager Philip Chan respective­ly at the annual award dinner organised by the SMI Associatio­n of Malaysia.

The SME ICT Adoption award is bestowed on non-listed SMES heeding the Government’s call to automate and adopt ICT in their businesses to attain operation efficiency and compete efficientl­y in the market.

The award is based on Ridpest’s practical and aggressive initiative­s towards adoption of ICT and reaping benefits both operationa­lly and financiall­y as a result.

The SME Rising Star Award is conferred on young SMES which have displayed great potential to become successful players in local and internatio­nal marketplac­e.

They are companies that are on the verge of a breakthrou­gh and will become successful, when given the necessary financial support, guidance and nurturing.

Awardees were evaluated by profession­als and experts, and visited by the audit committee before their submission­s and profile are presented to the selection committee comprising prominent businessme­n and captains of the industry to select the award winners to ensure the high integrity and quality of SME Recognitio­n Award 2011 achievers.

Establishe­d in 1985, Ridpest provides comprehens­ive pest management solutions, specialisi­ng in termite colony eliminatio­n.

It is the first homegrown pest management franchise since 2007.
