Plenty of fun-filled activities at bash for children’s home

-

LAUGHTER filled the air of Prudential Welfare Home (Pruhome), as its children happily showed off their newly handmade wax sculptures and colourful mugs during the home’s annual party held at its premises in Petaling Jaya recently.

The excitement of the children was hard to miss as they eagerly waited for their turns to get their hands dirty with the wax sculptures, mug painting and other fun-filled activities organised by the home.

They were joined by more than 80 guests comprising the management of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB), members of the Wesleyan Community Berhad, the children’s family members and volunteers, who were equally fascinated by the activities.

During the party, the children and guests were also treated to a delicious buffet dinner. The highlight of the event came when the children gathered to perform a medley of songs and Christmas carols, much to the guests’ delight.

The Prudential Welfare Home, or better known as Pruhome, was set up in 1993 to provide shelter and care for underprivileged children.

It is managed and run by Wesleyan Community Berhad, with financial support from PAMB. The home is a symbol of Prudential’s long-term commitment to care and contribute back to the community in which it operates.

“For the last 18 years, our home has helped make a difference in the lives of more than 80 wonderful children. Many of them have completed their studies and are now able to fend for themselves and their families. Given their background and circumstances before coming to Pruhome, it is very gratifying to see how these children’s lives have changed for the better,” said PAMB brand and communications director Fiona Liao.

Located at Taman SEA in Petaling Jaya, Pruhome is made up of two adjoining bungalows which currently house 31 children between eight and 16 years old. Besides basic necessities, it also provides an environment conducive for the children’s physical and emotional development.
