PM: Do the right thing and vote for Barisan

-

KUALA LUMPUR: It is up to Malaysians to determine the country’s future come the next general election, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said the country was currently at the crossroads, and the onus was on every voter to “make the right turn”.

“This election is not about Najib, it is about the future of Malaysia,” he said in his keynote address at the “Malaysian Chinese at a Political Crossroads” forum here yesterday.

The Prime Minister said it was Barisan Nasional policies that had helped the country achieve its successes.

He cited the latest list of 30 Malaysian billionaires, whom he said had benefited from the country’s stability and the Government’s policies, and the fact that the Government is “pro-growth”.

Najib also followed the tempo set by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek in the latter’s speech earlier, which criticised Pakatan Rakyat for simply demonising Barisan “ad-nauseum”, or to the point of nausea.

He added that the PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was never inclined to do whatever he promised now when he was in the Government.

Without naming Anwar, Najib said the former did nothing to assure the Chinese of the continued existence of vernacular schools when he was Education Minister.

“Today, it is not a question of whether Chinese schools exist or not. The only question is to get more financial allocations, finding new teachers and building new schools,” Najib said.
