Our columnist joins a legion of fans in expressing their fondness for a champagne house.
LOVE was in the air as celebrities and aficionados of venerated champagne house Moët & Chandon gathered at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently. The event was to launch the limited edition Moët Rosé Impérial “Tag Your Love” bottle pack.
The week-long celebration saw fashionistas and socialites sipping flutes of Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial while a few declared their feelings towards loved ones via personalised champagne bottles.
Reflecting the brand’s fun and flirty style, the iconic Moët Rosé Impérial bottle is dressed in pink and comes with a marker pen; that way, messages can be inscribed on the bottle itself.
With the scene set to a symphony of music and lighting, guests were privy to delectable strawberries that complemented the free flow of champagne.
The celebratory mood was further enhanced by songstress Poova who enthralled the audience with her jazz-inflected vocals. Guests at the event included violinist Dennis Lau, radio deejay Serena C, actress Carmen Soo, former beauty queen Elaine Daly, actor Melvin Sia and singer-actress Chelsia Ng.
“In true Moët & Chandon style, the limited edition Rosé Impérial ‘Tag Your Love’ bottle is given a fresh take, while still representing the unique characteristics discovered within the bottle,” enthused Frederick Noyere, managing director of Moët Hennessy Diageo Malaysia. “Moët’s signature bottles will always be synonymous as tributes to special events, and we can’t think of a better time to launch this limited edition bottle.”
On the first night of the launch, four limited edition bottles were dressed up by designers selected by a Chinese language lifestyle and fashion magazine. On the second night, Kuala Lumpur’s social set – hosted by a high society magazine – made the Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial bottle the main talking point of the evening.
Rosé Impérial is touted as a seductive expression, combining the intensity of Pinot Noir, the fruitiness of Pinot Meunier and the finesse of Chardonnay. This delightful pink champagne is distinguished by heady, sensual aromas – a lively bouquet of fresh summer berries with floral nuances and a light peppery touch.
Meanwhile, Suen Jewellers treated its customers to a night of sophisticated rock at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
With models sashaying down the runway amidst thumping rock beats, the “Suen Rocks – Dress To Roll” annual gala event was a sparkling success.
Invited guests were bedazzled by bling bling from internationally acclaimed brands Le Rêve jewellery, Hodel luxury pearls jewellery and Suen’s statement jewellery which consisted of diamond necklaces, rings and bracelets. Suen Jewellers also recently launched the first Lalique fine French crystals boutique in Malaysia and has been appointed the sole official distributor.
The night’s entertainment set the stage on fire and put guests in the mood for a rocking good time. Draybers, a Filipino band known for their combination of humour and great vocals, gave an electrifying classic rock performance. They belted out hits from Journey, Bon Jovi and Queen. The second band, Spirit of 67, performed feet-tapping, hip-grinding music from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
“I was travelling extensively last year for business, to explore new markets and to check on my distribution networks,” said Lee Sze Suen, founder and managing director of Suen Jewellers Sdn Bhd. “I chanced upon Resorts World Manila and absolutely fell in love with the whole ambience and the bands that were performing there. I wanted to bring the hospitality, warmth and talents that I experienced there back home, so that my family, friends and clients can share in the wonderful music these Filipino bands produce.” – Compiled by William K.C.
