Rm120mil for 1AZAM in Sabah

KINABATANG­AN: The government has allocated Rm120mil for the 1AZAM Programme in Sabah for the past two years.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin said the federal government’s allocation for the poverty programme was distribute­d over two phases, which were Rm40mil and Rm80mil for 2010 and 2011 respective­ly.

He said a total of 12,500 heads of household benefited from the programme.

He reminded the recipients that the aid is meant to help increase their income generation, and in the process, improve the quality of their lives.

He also called on the department­s and agencies behind the programme to monitor and guide the recipients.
