Lorryman’s murder a crime of passion

-

PETALING JAYA: The murder of lorry driver L. Ganesan, who was ambushed and slashed by armed intruders at his house here, was a crime of passion.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said investigations showed the victim’s wife was having an affair with a youth.

He said the victim had confronted the youth on Thursday, which led to a heated argument with the latter threatening to kill him.

He said the youth then “hired” two Form Four students to assist him in carrying out the act.

“The suspects waited for the victim to return home before attacking him. They fled when the victim collapsed near a neighbour’s house,” ACP Arjunaidi said.

Police have detained eight suspects including the victim’s wife and believe the case has been solved.

“We are still looking for another man to wrap up the probe,” he said, adding that all the suspects had been remanded until Saturday.

Last Saturday, The Star reported that the killing was linked to adultery and jealousy.

Investigations revealed that Ganesan, 31, had found out that his wife was seeing a 22-year-old man, said to be one of the suspects.

During the 2.50am incident on Thursday, the victim was repeatedly slashed in front of his wife.
