Design studio owner drowns at dive site

BESUT: The owner of a design studio drowned at a dive site in Pulau Perhentian Kecil here.

Foreigners found Nurul Husni Mahmud, 37, a former Malaysia Airlines pilot, floating in the water about 2pm yesterday, said Besut deputy OCPD DSP Noor Zainy Noor.

He said Nurul Husni was rushed to a clinic on the island where he was confirmed dead.

Nurul Husni, who was from Alor Setar, Kedah, had checked into a chalet on the island on Feb 2 and was scheduled to leave today.

Boatman Asrul Che Rama, 25, was having a drink with Nurul Husni at 10.30am before he left with two foreign tourists.

He said Nurul Husni was a regular visitor to the island and had been renting his boat to snap photographs. — Bernama
