PETALING JAYA: Another company secretary has been removed and two officials are said to have been given show-cause letters by Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd in relation to the ongoing controversy over the “loss” of a 234ha piece of land in Gombak worth Rm250mil belonging to a fully-owned subsidiary of KHSB.

This comes three days after KHSB removed Maziyah Mohd Zin as company secretary.

Yesterday, KHSB told Bursa Malaysia Norlida Jamaludin had also been removed as company secretary effective Feb 17, a day after Maziyah departed.

The reasons for their removal were not stated.

KHSB on Friday appointed Wong Wai Foong and Lim Lee Kuan as joint secretaries in their place.

The parent body Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd had also removed Maziyah as its company secretary a day earlier than KHSB.

KHSB said Norlida started working at SAP Holdings Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KHSB, in 1994 as secretarial and contract executive, and in 1995, was appointed assistant company secretary.

She was appointed group company secretary in 1997 and thereafter the group’s head of legal and secretarial services department up to 2000. In March 2003, she was appointed company secretary of KHSB.

Last Wednesday, The Star broke the story that SAP’S 234ha piece of land in Gombak was forfeited by the land office.

Some shareholders of KHSB expressed concern that the company could lose a prized asset and said they were kept in the dark over the forfeiture.

The land office took the land back in August although the lease was to expire only in 2090.

In reply to queries from Bursa last week, KHSB confirmed it did lose the land known as H.S.(D) 20034, PT No. 26549, Mukim Batu, Daerah Gombak, Negeri Selangor.

It said the land was owned by SAP Holdings.

“The land was forfeited by the state government of Selangor on Aug 25, 2011,’’ KHSB said in an announcement to Bursa.

It said the state government issued a notice to KHSB dated May 25, 2011 under Section 7A to say the land was being used “for illegal quarrying activities and hence breached the specific conditions of the alienation of the said land”.

Subsequently, on June 17, KHSB CEO Roslan Ahmad attended a meeting at the Gombak district land office to defend SAP’S rights and explain the legal case it had with its joint venture partners over the said land.

On Nov 18, the company submitted an appeal to the land office against the forfeiture.

“The management of the company has informed and updated the board on the status and action taken by the management of SAP and KHSB during the board of directors’ meeting on Nov 23. The board will be duly informed on any further development from time to time,” KHSB said.

“To date, the company has not received any official notification on the decision of the state government in relation to the appeal submitted by the company.”
