Splashing time at PD resort for 18 orphans

-

A TOTAL of 18 orphans from the Chin Hui Siew Yuen temple enjoyed a splashing good time and spent the night outside their dormitories courtesy of Tiara Beach Resort, Port Dickson recently.

The sponsored stay was part of the social corporate responsibility initiative mooted by the resort’s management led by its executive director Kelvin Cheong and senior manager (events and branding) Danny Tan.

The group was given VIP treatment and escorted to their rooms upon arrival in Port Dickson.

After a brief rest and some refreshments, Tan led the orphans, aged between one and 15, to a tour of the resort and water park.

Shortly after, they were told to change into their swimsuits before taking a dip at the newly enhanced children’s interactive play and pirate ship at the Kids Paradise 2 section.

Several games were lined up to ensure the visitors had a fun time and a memorable stay.

The older children were given a chance to cycle around the resort before a vegetarian dinner was served to the special guests and their guardians.

Tan said the group was also treated to a karaoke session in its VIP room and a movie at the Pavilion Stage.

“It is worth our efforts despite the hectic schedule and initial planning.

“The expression of happiness and joy on their faces was so uplifting,” he said, adding that the resort hoped to treat more orphans and less fortunate children from other welfare homes in the future.

Tan also urged the private sector to shower the needy and underprivileged with love and care throughout the year.

Before departing the next day, the group had breakfast and everyone was given a souvenir each and specially baked cakes to take home.
