Tee Yong challenges DAP to make stand on Nik Aziz’s statements

-

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Young Professionals Bureau chairman Datuk Chua Tee Yong has challenged the DAP to make a clear stand on PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat’s comments on the Islamist party’s policies.

Nanyang Siang Pau had on Monday quoted Nik Aziz as saying that all the policies PAS had implemented in Kelantan were in preparation for its entry into Putrajaya.

Nik Aziz also stressed that hudud law would be implemented only on Muslims.

“Those who do not break the law need not have to fear,” he said.

Chua said this was contrary to DAP’S assertion that Pakatan Rakyat’s Buku Jingga represented a joint declaration by the three Pakatan parties.

“What Nik Aziz said is proof that PAS is not concerned about the Buku Jingga,” he said in a statement yesterday.

“If Nik Aziz did indeed utter such remarks, does this now mean that whatever laws enforced in Kelantan will be replicated at the national level should PAS seize federal office?”

He alleged that DAP has done nothing to prevent hudud law from being imposed in Kelantan and Kedah,

Chua also asked if the DAP could not counter balance PAS now, would it be able to do so eventually.

“If the leaders of the three Pakatan coalition parties continue to say they are unanimously cooperating, they should clarify the PAS’ stand,” said Chua.
