PETALING JAYA: A man with a criminal record has been arrested in connection with the murder of Goh Chew Ping ( pic), a personal assistant at an ICT company.

It is learnt that Serdang police made the arrest at about 8pm yesterday after they managed to trace Goh’s stolen mobile phone, which was sold in Klang.

Sources said the man could be the main suspect in the Feb 3 murder that took place in Sri Kembangan near here where the 39-yearold Goh was found with a stab wound on her neck and slumped in the front seat of her car.

Sources said police believed there could be an accomplice involved in the murder and were questioning the suspect.

They have also seized his shirt and sent it for forensic testing.

The mother of two from Kedah was found killed in a parking lot near a mall some 200m from her office.

Goh’s employer found her slumped in the front seat of her car in a pool of blood.

Her mobile phone and handbag were missing and police believe she was attacked moments after getting into her car.

A half-eaten mandarin orange was also found in the vehicle. OCPD Supt Abdul Razak Elias was reported as saying that Goh, who worked as a personal assistant in an IT firm, had just left her office.

She had called her husband at about 8pm to tell him that she was on her way back to their Bandar Kinrara home but never turned up.

Her husband got worried when his calls to her went unanswered for more than an hour.

He then searched for her along with her employer who discovered her body and called the police.

Police found an electric cable and a six-inchlong knife at the crime scene.
