SULTRY actress Kilafairy (pic) does not feel threatened by the emergence of newer movie stars in the local entertainment scene, Kosmo! reported.

She agrees that the competitive industry needs new faces to keep the fans happy.

“Many of them are really talented and this is a very good development for our industry.

“I have no worries about new artistes coming up because most of them are my friends and we support each other,” she told the paper.

Kilafairy, the daughter of popular 80s singer Rohana Jalil, has been touted as the “Malaysian Angelina Jolie” due to the similarities of her lips to the Hollywood superstar.

She had to turn down many acting offers as she is still studying at Raffles International College.

“I’m not being selective, but to survive, you must choose a good character role.

“Right now I just want to concentrate on my studies first. If I act or even sing, it will only be during a semester break or the holidays,” she said, adding that she would appear in the latest movie Hoore Hoore soon.

Kilafairy, whose real name is Shakila Nisha Jahangir Khan, is also a talented singer like her mother and she sang the theme song of the drama series Tihany last year.

> Harian Metro reported about the brazen act of a snatch thief who used his victim’s mobile phone to send an apology to her husband for the crime.

The criminal even blamed the victim for wanting to give up her life by hanging on to her handbag.

Muhamad Hafiz Azizan, 23, was furious when he received the SMS said to have been sent by the snatch thief.

The SMS read: “We apologise. It was not our intention for the unexpected to happen. We, mat rempits are not recognised, but it is her fault that she wanted to give up her life”.

Muhamad Hafiz’s wife Nuramiza Ezzanie Azmi, 21, was riding her motorcycle to work in Alor Setar on Friday when another motorcyclist passed by and grabbed her handbag, which also contained her handphone.

The motorcyclist kicked her machine and she became unconscious after falling on the road.

Muhamad Hafiz said he couldn’t believe the contents of the SMS.

“These kind of people should be taught a lesson for their crimes,” he told the paper.
