S’porean rejects Viet bride after a week

-

A 51-YEAR-OLD businessman returned his Vietnamese bride-to-be a week after he brought her home. He said she was ugly, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The Singaporean, known only as Chen, had engaged the service of a Vietnamese bridal agency last August as he wanted a wife to take care of his children.

He initially fell for an 18-year-old girl but the teenager rejected him.

The agency then introduced him to a 23year-old woman, known as Mai.

Chen brought her back to his home after she arrived from Vietnam.

A week later, he sent her back to her home country and sued the company for a refund.

Chen, who refuted claims by Mai that they had had sex, filed the lawsuit when the agency refused to give him back the RM16,320 he “paid” to get the woman.

Last Friday, a Singapore court ruled in favour of the agency, saying it need not refund Chen.
