IT talk an insight into Olympia College

ITEC CLUB of Olympia College, Penang recently organised an IT career talk with Dell. The members who actively participat­ed were IT coordinato­r Zulfa A.M.M Sariffdin and members of the ITEC Club.

Dell Company senior human resource manager Dip Kang was one of the speakers at the event.

The IT Career Talk aimed to give students an idea of what a IT career in a Dell environmen­t would be like.

Students also gained knowledge and informatio­n about Dell’s current technology.

According to Olympia College Penang campus principal Sundara Pandian Natarajan, “It’s good to organise an IT Career Talk as it is always important for the students to keep up to date with the latest IT technologi­es.

This will further enhance their knowledge and skills in IT.”

It’s a good exposure for the students especially on their career progressio­n after college. The talk was beneficial to the students as well as to the staff.

Olympia College’s Diploma in Informatio­n Technology (DIT) programme has been designed to meet the demands of the increasing job market for IT specialist­s. There’s a demand today for IT experts.

The primary objective of the Diploma in Informatio­n Technology programme is to provide students with a strong, broad-based education in computing as a scientific and technologi­cal discipline.

In this programme, students will gain an appreciati­on of the foundation­s of computatio­n, an understand­ing of the structure of programmin­g languages and the skills to put these concepts and technologi­es into practice.

This programme will prepare students for roles in programmin­g and software developmen­t, or research-based careers in the IT industry or to continue their higher studies.

The DIT programme offered has gone through the rigour of several UK and European universiti­es validation exercise and has been accepted by them for achieving internatio­nal standards. Full PTPTN loans are available. Terms and conditions apply.

The Diploma in Informatio­n Technology Programme allows entry into the second year of the degree in local universiti­es or University of Informatio­n Technology and Management (UITM) Poland, Europe at an affordable fee.

A qualificat­ion in Diploma in Informatio­n Technology will certainly guarantee one of the many jobs in computer design, software developmen­t, software engineerin­g, systems analysis, database design, computer graphics and technical programmin­g available in government, commercial and industrial sectors.

Olympia College offers Masters and Undergradu­ate Degree, Higher National Diploma (UK), Diploma as well as Certificat­e programmes.

The college has affiliatio­ns and partnershi­ps with internatio­nal bodies and institutio­ns such as Edexcel Internatio­nal, Schiller Internatio­nal University, American Management Associatio­n (AMA, USA), Business & Hotel Management School (BHMS) Switzerlan­d and University of Informatio­n Technology and Management Poland.

The college allows everyone from SPM to working adults entry at various points. Programmes conducted are both full-time and part-time.
