Learning culinary arts from experts
CILANTRO Culinary Academy is Malaysia’s biggest private vocational culinary academy with 11 hotel standard kitchens and more than 15 experienced chef instructors who are internationally and locally trained. Recognising the rising importance of education even in the skilled group, Cilantro Culinary Academy in partnership with City & Guilds and University of West London, offers Foundation, Diploma, Advanced Diploma courses in culinary arts and the latest Bachelor Degree in Food & Professional Cookery.
One of their major strengths is that students are trained 70% hands-on (in kitchen) and 30% theory.
Cilantro Culinary Academy was recently awarded the Recognition of Quality Culinary Education by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) .
WACS is an independent organisation of chefs worldwide and this recognition is testament to Cilantro Culinary Academy’s good work. Cilantro Culinary Academy is the one of three academies in Malaysia awarded this recognition and the only private vocational culinary academy to get it. Future employers can rest assured knowing that students educated at a Wacs-recognised culinary academy meet WACS standards for quality culinary education.
In line with their objectives, a Career Discovery Program (CDP) is open to all who has an interest in culinary arts and would like to gain real-life experience working in a kitchen with chefs. The CDP is a four-day programme where students will be given a chance to explore and gain more knowledge about the culinary world. The CDP is designed for them to experience the actual life of a chef and exposure to hotel standard kitchens.
At the end of the four days, students will be able to go home with a better idea of what to look forward to in the culinary arts line.
Those interested to join the CDP, can call 03-8023 0555 or visit www.cilantro.edu.my. The next CDP starts from March 13 to 16 and the intake date is March 26. Minimal administration fees are applicable. Limited seats are available and work on a first come-first-serve basis.
