- Diploma in Business Administration

Nilai UC School of Business dean Dr Evelita E. Celis said the philosophy underlying the teaching methods has made it a popular choice among school leavers.

“The close ties that Nilai UC has with its academic partner Oxford Brookes University, UK is an important factor. Both students and parents are Internet savvy and would have noted that Oxford Brookes has been named top new university by the Times Good University Guide for a few years.”

Celis has combined 32 years of professional experiences with the private industry, the government, and the academia to develop her expertise as an accountant, manager and business educator.

“In this dynamic world of business, students should possess industry desired values that would make them globally competitive.

“It is best that our students are trained to work with a team to enable them to generate more ideas and understand each other’s capabilities and differences. Working with a team will also help students develop critical thinking skills.”

The method of classroom instruction affords the students at Nilai UC the opportunity to experience business in classroom with the guidance of lecturers. The class discussions using case analysis help to develop their critical thinking skills.

Nilai UC students are also good in data gathering necessary for a good research project. This is because they are left to fend for themselves without lecturer intervention in certain projects. This teaches them to be able to think independently.

Nilai UC lecturers are student-centric. All students benefit from having a mentor and also close supervision to ensure their studies are up to scratch. Nilai UC also believes in producing well-rounded graduates and this is achieved by introducing noncore subjects such as anthropology and ethics into the syllabus. Sports and extra-curricular activities are also compulsory.
