TO ensure success, the quality of education that is delivered must be of the highest standard. The Language Institute(tli) of UCSI Professional Academy remains as one of the best and largest language teaching organisations in over 33 different countries.

TLI provides a great learning experience for students from all over the world, which allows them to enrol in the programmes offered to improve their fluency in the English language.

Recently, TLI opened its doors to 40 students from Jaineung College, Korea who enrolled in a month-long intensive holiday programme at the institute.

The holiday programme is designed for students seeking to improve their vocabulary range, oral fluency, as well as writing skills for education purposes.

The English programme sought to equip them with reading and analytical skills, brainstorming, listening and speaking skills and also focused on grammar and pronunciation.

During the short course, which took place from Jan 9 to Feb 6, the students had the chance to familiarise themselves with their new education hub.

They were amazed by the various facilities the campus had to offer. All facilities and accommodation were provided by TLI to ensure convenience and comfort and warm hospitality was accorded to the students.

The holiday programme built students’ confidence and personality by making the learning process fun and interactive.

They had an opportunity to not only sharpen their English skills but also to learn new things. Upon completion of the course, students were awarded a certificate of attendance during the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony was interspersed with performances by TLI students and teachers.

TLI general manager, Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mohamed gave away the certificates to the students.

“Not only was I lucky enough to learn English at this well-known global language institute, I was lucky to have the opportunity to meet people from around the world and to improve myself,” said Jun Seungju Na, a student from Korea.

Later after the ceremony, students posed proudly before the cameras to remind themselves of their memorable visit.

Encouraged by the success of the visit, another group of 17 students from Dong Shin University, Korea arrived in Malaysia on Feb 1.

These are students who have enrolled in a month-long Edu-vacation-youth Programme at the institute.

This programmes marks the collaboration between TLI and Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) for the Masholidays programme which involves three main aspects which are education, vacation and youth.

The English Programme is designed to expose participants to Malaysia’s natural and cultural treasures.

The Edu-vacation-youth Programme gives them the chance to explore places of interest while learning English.

It promotes English Language learning during student vacations and excursions in Malaysia.

The exciting holiday programme is aimed at tertiary students around the world.

It also involves students familiarising themselves with the local people, and the interesting traditions and unique culture of Malaysia. This course is designed to expose participants to Malaysia’s natural and cultural treasures. In this unique Malaysian setting, the course will facilitate cross-cultural communication between participants and the locals, through a carefully structured English course.

Students found the environment at the campus to be conducive to learning. English speaking is encouraged among the students at The Language Institute, so the more the students communicate with others, the more fluent they become.

The Edu-vacation-youth Programme connects to The Language Institute’s vision of “Any language, anywhere, anyhow, anyone, anytime in a fun and contextual way.”

The Contextual Teaching and Learning(ctl) method helps students discover a meaningful relationship between abstract ideas and practical applications in a real-world context.

At TLI, educators select learning environments that incorporate many forms of experience to achieve the desired outcomes.
