Two funeral parlours to be built in Wangsa Maju

-

TWO funeral parlours for the Indian and Chinese community in the Wangsa Maju constituency will be built soon following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement that the Federal Government has agreed to provide an allocation for the facilities.

Wangsa Maju Umno division chief, Datuk Dr Shafei Abdullah said the Deputy Prime Minister hadmade the announcement during a briefing with the division.

“One funeral parlour will be built in Danau Kota and the other in Teratai Mewah, each costing about RM50,000,” he told reporters after the briefing.

After the closed-door briefing, Muhyiddin presented BR1M vouchers to recipients in the constituency.

On the briefing which took almost an hour, Shafei said Muhyiddin urged party members and its election machinery to double their efforts to win back the Wangsa Maju parliamentary seat, which is now held by independent MP, Wee Choo Keong.

“He (Muhyiddin) had asked us all to work hard as there is a good chance for this seat to be wrested back (by Barisan Nasional). In the last general election, we lost the seat by only 150 votes,” he said.

Shafei said the question of candidate, however, was not raised at the briefing.

The Wangsa Maju seat has 64,583 registered voters, with Malays forming 54%.
