The flagship model is the Xperia S which has a 12-megapixel camera with a special fast capture mode to snap photos in just 1.5 seconds from standby mode.

Smarttags allow users to have different profiles that automatically load, say, when they are at home or in a car.

The Xperia S is available in black and white.

It runs on a 1GHZ dual-core processor with 16GB of storage. Like the Xperia S, the P is also Nfc-enabled and can used with the Smarttags accessory. The Xperia P comes in black, white and red. For music lovers, the Xperia U is Sony’s entertainment phone which promises to deliver great sound.

The phone is available in black and white, and users can customise it further with a choice of white, black, yellow and pink exchangeable caps for the base of the phone.

It has a 3.5in display and features xloud and 3D surround audio technology to improve music playback.

It also has a 1GHZ dual-core processor, 4GB of memory, and a 5-megapixel camera that records 720p HD videos and snaps 3D panoramas.

All three smartphones are Dlna-enabled and will be able to share content with devices that support the protocol such as HDTVS.

They run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Sony plans to release an upgrade for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in the second quarter.

The Xperia S is available from mobile operators such as Maxis, Digi, Celcom and U Mobile and will be in stores nationwide from tomorrow for RM1,899.

Both the Xperia P and U are expected to be released in the second quarter. The prices have yet to be announced. — CHONG JINN XIUNG ++++ www.sonymobile.com
