Norton goes Everywhere

-

SYMANTEC is expanding its Norton security suite from something that traditionally sits on a PC to a whole range other devices, including the smartphone and the Tablet.

Called Norton 360 Everywhere, the security suite provides security across multiple platforms, namely PCS, Apple Macs, Android smartphones and Android Tablets in any combination from three up to a maximum of five using a single licence.

Using Everywhere, users can download and install the software on all their various devices and have them all protected, using a single log-on and the online Norton Management console.

Everywhere can also be used to remotely track, lock or wipe your Android smartphone or Tablet.

In case you’re wondering why there is no mention of IOS devices like the iphone and the ipad, according to David Hall, regional consumer product marketing manager of Symantec Asia Pacific, the IOS platform is essentially a closed platform where apps are vetted, which means that malware and spyware tend to not be a problem on the platform.

For users who change their smartphones every year, Hall said that Everywhere allows for de-registering a device to free up a licence so that the same licence can be used for the user’s new smartphone.

Everywhere will be available in June. Details on pricing and system requirements will only be available at launch. — TAN KIT HOONG ++++ store.norton.com/my/en/
