Maximising each child’s potential

-

JUST 5% of what I did in Kumon is good enough to keep me ahead of my other classmates in school,” says Arun Kumaran, the youngest to have completed the Kumon Mathematics Programme in Malaysia.

He is proud of his achievement, as he feels that he has conquered the pinnacle. Arun is nine and has completed the Form 5 Maths syllabus.

Arun started his journey in the Maths programme at the age of six. He was not enrolled in any kindergarten, making Kumon his first formal education.

Arun did his Kumon worksheets consistently, usually in the mornings.

As he was progressing well through the Kumon worksheets, his self-confidence gradually built up.

In the beginning, he asked for assurance to confirm his answers. However, as he progressed to higher levels, he gained enough confidence to derive answers independently. He was not afraid of making mistakes because he knew that he could learn from mistakes.

“On the first school day of my primary 3, my math teacher caught me practising concavity and tangents in class. She couldn’t understand what I was doing,” said Arun with a big smile.

To Arun, this is one of the benefits of studying in Kumon, where he is presented the opportunity to learn higher level maths topics that others have not reached.

Kumon advanced students are not born geniuses, they are nurtured. A child can become extraordinary when they are given the opportunity to learn at their own pace, bearing in mind the vast potential that lies within.

Arun demonstrates that each child’s potential is unlimited. Kumon is the place to discover every child’s hidden potential. Experience the Kumon Method Kumon, which was developed over 50 years ago, is available in more than 46 countries around the world with more than four million students.

Currently, there are 200 centres with more than 40,000 students throughout Malaysia.

Kumon aims to offer more students the opportunity to experience the joy of selflearning.
