-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Star reader Jonics Ooi loves reading the latest news and fashion stories straight from her iphone now.

Praising the new epaper app, she said it actually spurred her to read more stories as it was convenient.

“I have already downloaded it. The Star has such a wide range of articles, especially ones I love like fashion news,” she said at The Star’s epaper booth at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) yesterday.

The 26-year-old salesperson added that it was great to read and “flip through” the epaper like a physical copy.

Readers who want to experience the epaper should head over to PWTC at The Star’s booth in conjunction with the Perfect Living exhibition held there.

The Star also has another booth for the public to try the epaper app at the Midvalley exhibition centre in conjunction with The Star Health Fair 2012 from today till Sunday.

Accessible via tablet PCS, smartphones (both IOS and Android systems) and even on personal computers, The Star’s epaper has been available for public download since April 1.

The epaper also boasts an audio version of stories and each edition of the newspaper will be available by 7am daily.

Subscribers also have access to previously unavailable editions in the Klang Valley, such as Sarawak Star and Metro North.

Star Publications (M) Bhd deputy chief marketing officer Angelina Villanueva said visitors to the booth could also get help with downloading the epaper app onto their smartphones or tablets.

“Everyone is welcome to try out our epaper so that they get a feel of what it is like to read an entire newspaper online,” she said, adding that public response towards the epaper had been tremendous.
