All set for health fair
Exhibitors put finishing touches on booths before inaugural event
KUALA LUMPUR: Exhibitors are all geared up for Star Health Fair 2012 which starts today.
Many were hard at work yesterday setting up their booths to prepare a wide range of funfilled activities and promotions for the threeday fair.
Cambert ( M) Sdn Bhd category manager Agnes Chiew Li Yen said they had put much thought on the many attractive promotions for visitors of the fair at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.
“We are very excited. We can’t wait to meet our loyal customers and also new ones. We have also come up with a lucky draw to give our customers a chance to win a six-day/fournight holiday package to reward them,” she said.
Vista Laser Eye Centre Sdn Bhd chief marketing officer Marcus Liew said they were looking forward to meeting families with their children in hopes of creating higher awareness towards eye health at an early age.
“We are offering free eye screening to check for the top three preventable eye diseases: cataract, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration for adults and also short-sightedness or long-sightedness for children aged seven and above,” he said.
Federation of Reproductive Health Association media and publications officer Saisundary Sundra Kumar said they hoped to educate the public on taking care of their reproductive health which people tend to overlook.
Speakers for talks at the health fair include Sunday Star Ancient Secrets columnist T. Selva, Malaysian Dietitians’ Association consultant dietitian Indra Balaratnam, iheal Medical KL consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Cecilia Wong and Isha Foundation’s Shakti Ramasamy.
