Aguero: I’ll be fit for crucial match against Arsenal

-

LONDON: Sergio Aguero has declared he should be fit for Manchester City’s make-or-break trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

And the striker confirmed report his “stupid” injury was down to an allergic reaction to a pain-killing spray.

Aguero missed draws with Stoke and Sunderland as City slumped five points behind leaders Manchester United.

But he was back with the squad at Carrington on Wednesday, preparing to face the Gunners.

Aguero, 23, tweeted: “I got back from practice and it’s not bothering me. If it all goes well, I’ll be at coach’s disposal.”

It was revealed on Saturday the £35mil Argentine star’s problems came when a routine pain-killing spray caused his foot to balloon and blister.

Aguero revealed: “I injured my ankle against Chelsea and it was sprayed with an anaesthetic that caused a burn on the upper part of my right foot.

“The injury worsened after a few days and when boils appeared I was told I wouldn’t play against Stoke and then against Sunderland.

“You can imagine how I felt, being out when my team is trying to take the championship.”

City’s record signing also repeated his desire to stay at the Etihad despite fresh rumours linking him with Real Madrid.

There were reports he and his family have struggled to settle in England.

But he said: “We have had a great season and my family and I feel at home here.”
