Cops seize Rm15mil drugs in latest raid
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized Rm14.9mil worth of drugs in the latest of a series of nationwide crackdowns.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and 736,330 Erimin 5 pills seized in the latest raid on a double-storey house in Bandar Baru Klang.
Federal Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the raid was the result of information gathered from raids and arrests made recently.
“Our investigation led us to this house which we believe had been used as a warehouse by the syndicate,” he said during a press conference in Bukit Aman yesterday.
Police also found 12.3kg of Ephedrine, a material used to make syabu, and several packaging equipment at the house.
“However, we didn’t find any of the finished product,” he said.
The suspect has a criminal record, including two drug-related cases.
Comm Noor Rashid said with the arrest and seizure, police had crippled a major drug syndicate.
Last Tuesday, Selangor police arrested a wireman and seized Rm5.25mil worth of Erimin 5 and Ecstasy pills.
This was after a series of raids in the Klang Valley and Penang last Saturday, which saw 25 people arrested and Rm43mil of Erimin 5 pills and raw materials seized.
