Xperia trio
SONY has announced the pricing for three of its latest smartphones — the Xperia P, U and sola. The highlight is the Xperia sola, which features Sony’s unique technology called floating touch that allows consumers to navigate the Web by hovering their finger above the screen.
Once the desired link is found it can be highlighted and the page loaded with a simple tap.
The sola features a 3.7in Reality Display screen, is powered by a 1GHZ dual-core processor for fast browsing, and has XLOUD and 3D surround technology for crisp and loud audio.
The smartphone is bundled with Smart tags which leverage on NFC (near field communications) technology to change the settings of the handset with a single tap. Once the phone is touched with a Smart tag, it will launch a pre configured profile inside the phone.
Available in a choice of black, red and white, the sola has a retail price of RM999.
With a full aluminium unibody design, the Xperia P features a 4in Reality Display and is powered by a 1GHZ dual-core processor with 16GB Flash storage.
It also boasts an 8-mega pixel camera that records HD videos, and captures 2D and 3D panoramic images.
Available in a choice of silver, black and red, the Xperia P will be available for RM1,499.
The Xperia U is aimed at audiophiles, with XLOUD and Sony 3D surround sound audio technology integrated into the music player.
Sporting a 3.5in Reality Display touchscreen and powered by a 1GHZ dual-core processor, it also features a 5-megapixel camera.
The phone also has the capability to stream music to wireless speakers using DLNA protocol. This Xperia U is expected to retail for RM899.
All models ship with the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. ++++ www.sonymobile.com
