Coin-cidence saves Samaritan from being shot by robber

KEEPING a lot of loose change in his pocket saved a man’s life when he was hit by a bullet fired by a robber, reported Malaysia Nanban.

Sanjay Duttaram Mayekar of Mumbai was being a Good Samaritan when he managed to apprehend a man who had just robbed a businessma­n. Just then, the man pulled out a home-made gun and fired at him.

The bullet hit him on the hip, but the many coins that he had kept in his pocket prevented the bullet from causing any serious harm.

The bullet pierced through the coins and only slightly injured the 44-year-old.

The drama took place near Kumbharwad­a on Thursday and Sanjay has been sent to hospital.

Sensing that shehadbeen duped, thewoman contacted the man and told him that her husband had really come back and that other women in her village also needed his service.

When the man came by, the woman and her friends ambushed him and summoned the police.
