Let’s heap more Blues on AVB

- KNG ZHENGGUAN

Chelsea, I’ve always held him in high regard – well, that was until he joined crosstown rivals Tottenham Hotspur. But enough said of him. I’d rather focus on Roberto Di Matteo. He’s been quite a revelation since taking over the hot seat. His tactical acumen is spot-on.

Being a Chelsea old boy certainly helps too.

And Robbie better have something up his sleeve when Lamps and Co travel to White Hart Lane today as Spurs have been on fire of late.

The 3-2 win over Man United on Sept 29 is proof enough of their potential and threat.

Gareth Bale, despite his diving antics, will be the main threat alongside the human tank Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey.

Logically, Chelsea should field the holy trident of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar to take advantage of Spurs’ weak defence.

But that would mean Bale having a field day on our right flank. He’ll run rings around Branislav Ivanovic. This is where Ramires comes in. The Brazilian should be utilised on the right to neutralise the Bale threat, leaving Frank Lampard, who’s always had a good game against Spurs, to slot into the middle next to John Obi Mikel.

Oscar should be tasked with marking out Dembele. I’m fairly confident he’ll be up to it given how he outplayed Andrea Pirlo and Mikel Arteta in recent times.

That means Mata starts on the left and Hazard can come on as a sub.

Otherwise, Robbie can always switch to Plan B – Victor Moses.

So Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.

Kng Zheng Guan is hoping Hugo Lloris plays instead of Brad Friedel. At least we’re guaranteed to score if Lloris plays.
