Canaries should be easy targets for Gunners

ARSENAL are currently outside the top four with countless issues around the park. For their fans, however, there is nothing they can do wrong, even after losing to Chelsea at home.

The confidence that their side can really achieve something this year is really strong.

It’s not difficult to see the reason for this blind faith though – just look at how the Gunners bounced back from that defeat with a determined 3-1 win against West Ham.

This weekend Arsenal will look to build on that momentum against a struggling Norwich squad.

The last time they met at Carrow Road, Norwich were actually winning – until Arsenal made a late comeback. In the return match at the Emirates last season, they even managed to hold Arsenal to a draw.

It will not be as easy this season though. This Arsenal side seem to have developed some grit and they proved their resilience against West Ham before the international break.

Norwich have had a bad start and come into the match after three straight defeats. At the very least they will be looking to clinch a draw.

It will be a big test for the Canaries as their attack, led by Grant Holt after a broken foot sidelined onloan forward Harry Kane at the end of September, have only scored five goals so far this season.

While their defeats – against Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle – do not spell disaster for Norwich, they will need to tighten up their leaky defence against the Gunners as they currently have the worst goal difference in the league at a -12. Arsenal, meanwhile, have a good goal difference of +8 despite their striking problems.

And now that new boys Lukas Podolski (pic), Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud (can he find the goal again after breaking his duck against West Ham and salvaging a point for France with his late equaliser?) are really discovering their rhythm in the English Premier League, they will want to make a strong statement in the match.

More so since this is the first of two games (they meet Queens Park Rangers next) before facing Manchester United on Nov 3.

Gooners will expect nothing less than a win before Arsenal’s showdown with their most hated Dutch guy.

Hariati believes Arsenal will gun down the Canaries 3-1.
