Hodak hails Sathia as the best coach in Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Kelantan coach Bojan Hodak praised his Armed Forces counter part B. Sathianathan and said that the former national coach is the best coach in Malaysia.

However, the Croatian is oneup on his long-time friend after Kelantan edged Forces 3-2 after extra time to win their second Malaysia Cup.

The Malaysia Cup victory also completed Kelantan’s treble after their Super League and FA Cup successes.

The last team to achieve that feat was Kedah who did it backto-back in 2007 and 2008.

The former UPB-Myteam coach also added that he would go for a holiday with his family before thinking about next season.

“We had the best teams in Malaysia playing in the final and I believe we had an entertaining final match,” said Hodak.

“Sathia is the best coach in the country ... he has done a tremendous job with Forces. They won the Premier League to secure promotion to the Super League and made it to the Malaysia Cup final.

“We had a very long season and I will take my family for a holiday before thinking about next season.”

Meanwhile, Sathia vowed that Forces will return stronger next season in the Super League.

Sathia, who led Kelantan to their first Malaysia Cup title in 2010, also took a swipe at Kelantan players who were time-wasting and getting cramps towards the end.

“After all the talk of them having a younger and fitter team, they were the ones who were falling like potatoes,” said the former national coach.

“I take pride in my team’s performance. We did well to qualify for the final and will come back stronger next season.”
