Dogs terrorising residents in Puchong

- S. MATHANA AMARIS FIONA Puchong, Selangor

A PACK of dogs (about eight to 10) have been terrorising our residential area, at Jalan PU12/5A, Jalan PU12/6 and Jalan PU12/7 for the past two months.

Numerous reports have been made from Oct 15 with Subang Jaya Local Council (MPSJ) and its operating unit, Jabatan Kesihatan. When I spoke to the officer-incharge from Bahagian Kacau Ganggu (Disturbance Division) I was told that they did not find any dogs during their operation.

It is puzzling how the officer can give this standard reply, as the whole neighbourhood knows the dogs are terrorising the area day and night in groups and individually.

They are constantly jumping at us when we leave for work in the morning and return at night. The dogs almost bit my mother’s leg a fortnight ago.

I have also witnessed the dogs chasing others (passers-by, children, newspaper vendors and those on motorcycle) throughout the day. The dogs hide under the cars or behind the trees, and jump at passers-by.

The dogs’ peak attacking times are from 6.30am to 8am and 7pm onwards, all taking place right in front of my house.

For the past one week, the dogs have started charging at cars that pass by.

I too have difficulty getting my car into my driveway as the dogs gather in front of my main gate every night. The dogs sit there from 8pm until the next morning.

Before some tragedy occurs, can the local council do something? I have taken photographs of the dogs in the street in front of my house and recorded the constant loud barking (Photos and recording file attached).

I really hope the authorities will take action soon.
