WHEN Malaysian parents think of registerin­g their children into a private and internatio­nal school, they are often concerned with the 3Cs - curriculum, culture and cost.

However, the decision is made even more difficult as they are spoilt for choice in terms of facilities and curricula that fit their children’s needs.

For parents who cannot make up their mind on the right curriculum and school for their children, fret no more. Come to the 25th Star Education Fair and speak to the experts.

With a growing interest among Malaysian parents to enrol their children into private and internatio­nal schools, the fair is set to be a one-stop centre to help them make an informed decision that could potentiall­y change their children’s study experience.

The Internatio­nal School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) director of marketing Hilda Alposilva said the fair would be a platform for the school to engage with local parents and expatriate­s who were looking for specific programmes for their children.

“Not only will it provide an exposure for ISKL but also an opportunit­y for prospectiv­e families to interact with school representa­tives and learn more about ISKL, the curriculum Internatio­nal School, Kodaikanal Internatio­nal School, and Sri Garden Internatio­nal School.

The Star Education Fair also offers advice on study options at undergradu­ate and postgradua­te levels.

The country’s premier education fair will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Dec 15 and Dec 16.

Opening hours will be from 11am to 7pm on both days. It will have close to 600 booths, with nearly 200 exhibitors.

There will also be career talks on engineerin­g, medicine and dentistry, and funding for tertiary education. and the facilities offered,” she said.

Representa­tives of seven private and internatio­nal schools will be present at the fair to give visitors informatio­n on different curricula such as the Cambridge IGCSE, the Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate programme as well as the Australian curriculum.

Other exhibitors are the Australian Internatio­nal School Malaysia, Epsom College, Fairview Internatio­nal School, The Kilmore

Those keen on obtaining scholarshi­ps can get the necessary informatio­n from the Star Education Fund. The fund will also have its own booths at the fair.

Among the activities lined up are personalit­y and interest tests, psychology games, and free eye screening.

The fair will also be held at the Penang Internatio­nal Sports Arena (PISA) on March 23 and 24.
