HR Group sees Rm100mil sales volume in Thailand by 2015

-

ALOR STAR: HR Group, Malaysia’s biggest healthcare products and dairy and mutton-based food manufacturer, expects its sales turnover in neighbouring Thailand to hit RM100mil a year in 2015.

Executive chairman Datuk Hashim Jahaya said that since starting operations in Thailand middle of this year, sales of the company’s products exceeded RM1mil a month.

“Given this positive development and consumers’ overwhelming response, particularly for body-care products, including cosmetics, I expect the sales volume in Thailand to touch RM10mil a month by June next year.

“While there is no company selling goat milk-derived products in Thailand as a competitor, HR’s products which are recognised as quality products and considered cheap by consumers will hasten our successful venture in Thailand,” he told Bernama after receiving 60 representatives of distributors and stockists of Diamond Director status from Thailand to HR’s plant at the Mergong Barrage Industrial Area here yesterday.

Hashim said the Thailand market was a unique market as Asean member countries accepted Malaysia’s products as quality products eventhough such products were produced in their own countries.

“This is among the reasons they are being brought here to visit the HR factory to instil confidence in the company as the demand for our products are increasing every month besides ensuring our commitment and guarantee of continued supply. There were cases where having paid the money to become agents or distributors, the company that had collected millions of ringgit had absconded as they really didn’t have a factory,” he said.

Hashim is confident that HR’s stockists and distributors in Thailand would increase to more than 5,000 by the middle of next year from over 1,000 currently and the company would have 7,000 kiosks by 2015.

To cope with the rapid growth in Thailand, he said, his company planned to open a storage centre to store HR products and build a factory in Thailand soon.
