Negri Ruler calls for tolerance and respect
KUALA PILAH: The Yang diPertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir has called on the people in the state to maintain tolerance and respect for each other.
He said he believed that the peace and harmony being enjoyed by Malaysians today had emerged from the mutual understanding and unity of the people.
“Indeed, the country and the state belong to us all. Therefore, let’s watch our manners and avoid negative attitudes that can ruin the existing system and life’s values,” he said in his address at the investiture of state medals and awards in conjunction with his 65th birthday at Istana Besar Seri Menanti here yesterday.
Tuanku Muhriz said he found that most of the Government’s planning and policies had brought about positive impact.
“I am sure that they were the result of the cooperation between the state government and the people. Hence, I would like to call on the people to continue to stay united to maintain harmony and solidarity,” he added.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, in his congratulatory and loyalty speech, said the implementation of various policies, especially the Economic Transformation Plan, would bring a positive impact to good economic growth for the country.
A total of 166 people received state medals and awards from Tuanku Muhriz during the investiture ceremony. — Bernama
