BN can do a much better job administering Selangor, unlike Pakatan, PM tells Selangor folk.

SHAH ALAM: Barisan Nasional can do a much better job administering Selangor compared with the current state government, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Speaking on air at the launch of SelangorBN.fm radio station, the Prime Minister said the Pakatan Rakyat state government had failed to fulfil its promises made at the 2008 general election and called on the people of Selangor to vote Barisan back into power.

“It is our intention and objective to take back Selangor. It is not because we want power, but because we are sure we can serve better than the government today,” he said in response to a question from deejay M. Kavimani.

Najib was on air for 15 minutes from 12.40pm yesterday.

“There are many problems in Selangor, and the state government has cheated the people. I hate being cheated and lied to, and I’m sure it is the same for everyone,” said Najib.

Najib promised that Barisan would strive to meet the aspirations of the people if it wins the mandate to govern Selangor.

SelangorBN.fm, an Internet radio, is available through its website

SelangorBN.fm and through smartphone applications.

Najib said the radio station was a first for Barisan.

“This shows that Selangor Barisan is not static, but always thinking of the latest way to reach out to the voters. Radio is a good medium to disseminate Barisan’s message and get feedback from the people of Selangor,” he said.

Using a talk radio format, SelangorBN.fm started operations last Nov 17 and features interviews with politicians and celebrities, as well as discussions on religion and health.

The 24-hour station is multi-lingual with programmes presented in Malay, English, Mandarin and Tamil.

Present at the launch were Selangor Barisan coordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed, information chief Datuk Yap Pian Hon, Selangor Umno deputy chief Datuk Seri Noh Omar, Selangor Gerakan chief A. Kohilan Pillay and PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas.
