Police response to information ridiculous

-

ON Dec 31, our home in USJ, Subang Jaya was broken into and four smartphones, two laptops, RM300 and two tabs were stolen.

When we went to the police station in Subang Jaya, it took the person in charge a while to attend to us.

We were told that the day being a Monday, the police were having an assembly.

We arrived at the police station at around 6.30am and the investigating officer attended to us only at around 9.30am.

When the break-in took place we were all sound asleep.

Yesterday, a month after the break-in, I was shocked to see that the “genius of a thief” decided to be on whats app, using my old phone number.

The “smartest move” was to put his photo on display. I am not jumping to conclusion that the current phone owner is the thief but to be realistic why would someone still use the sim card and number of the previous owner. It does not make sense.

I went to the police station to lodge a report and to provide them with the photo of the culprit.

To my surprise the response was: “Oh! I am sorry but the pegawai penyiasat (investigating officer) is on leave. Come again on Tuesday.” That, to me is ridiculous.

Be it the procedure or whatsoever, I believe that the police needs to structure their procedures or management. I was there to help them in their investigations and I was providing information. What kind of a response is this?

The PDRM can add more closecircuit cameras or more whatever, but if they themselves don’t change nothing will. TENGKU NABILAH TENGKU ISMAIL Subang Jaya
