Two more EF lenses
CANON is expanding its range of lenses with two new EF lenses: The EF24-70mm f/ 4L IS USM and EF35mm f/ 2 IS USM.
The EF24-70mm makes for an ideal everyday standard zoom lens with a nine-blade circular aperture that produces beautiful background blurs for portrait shots.
Its construction is both dustproof and drip-proof, making it suitable for harsh environments.
Compact and lightweight, it measures only 93mm long and weighs 600g.
This lens is also suitable for macro photography because it has a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m, with a working distance of 3cm and a maximum magnification of 0.7x.
The EF24-70mm’s Hybrid IS function helps stabilise images during macro shooting.
Meanwhile, the EF35mm is a great all around prime lens when photographers need to take wideangle shots with minimal distortion.
It can be used for street photography, wedding photography or for group portraits and landscapes.
The lens’ moulded glass aspherical lens element is claimed to help reduce chromatic aberration. It has a wide open f- stop that is suitable for portraits and an eight-blade circular aperture for good bokeh (or aesthetic blurring).
Canon’s EF35mm is optimised for video recording because it uses a silent micro-step drive control and an image stabiliser for sharper and clearer images.
Both lenses are available now for RM4,859 and RM3,269, respectively. ++++ www.canon.com.my
