Deputy editor believes his assault is politically motivated

He was heading home to Sungai Buloh on his motorcycle after work on Tuesday when he spotted two men waiting by the roadside.

Kalimuthoo said the assailants lost control of their motorcycles when trying to kick him, and he managed to escape.

He lodged a report at the Sungai Buloh police station.

“I believe this attack is related to the political reports we have been publishing lately,” said Kalimuthoo.

An exclusive report carried by the paper on Tuesday mentioned that several party leaders had shown interest in buying Audi cars and questioned how these leaders, who were not named in the report, could afford them.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang confirmed the case, adding that it was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt.
