Councillor accused of abusing maid

Municipal official investigated over sexual and physical mistreatment of helper

It is learnt that the councillor had hired the victim as his personal maid in July shortly before the abuse began.

“It started small with pinching and slaps before it steadily grew worse at which point he forced her to perform oral sex on him daily.

“Sometimes, he would force her PETALING JAYA: A municipal councillor from Selangor is being investigated by police for sexually and physically abusing his illegal maid.

The investigation came about after two individual police reports were lodged by both the victim and the councillor’s younger brother who lives in the same house as him. to perform the act up to five times a day,” said a source.

It is also believed that the maid had been raped twice by the councillor.

The first police report was lodged by the councillor’s brother on Aug 13 before the victim lodged a similar report on Sept 5.

The victim had since been brought into police custody for her own protection and lack of proper travel documents. Her passport had expired in 2012.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed the police reports, adding that investigations were under way.

Police have recorded statements from both the victim and the councillor.

The victim has been brought under the protection of the AntiTrafficking in Persons Act.

“Please give us time to look into this case thoroughly,” ACP Arjunaidi said.
