Family does not know what to do after woman dies of stomach pain

THE corpse of a Filipino woman was left to rot in a room in Miri as her family members claimed they did not know what to do with it, reported Berita Harian.

Habiba Majani, 36, was left in her room by family members after she died due to stomach pain. It was only after the corpse began to smell that the family started asking for help.

Miri OCPD Supt Stanley Jonathon Ringgit said Habiba, who was a washerwoma­n, had been suffering from intestinal cancer and had not worked for several months.

“After she died, her brother did not know how to arrange for a funeral, and the family just left the body there until it started to decompose,” he said.

M. Kasthuri rents a ramshackle one-room home in Rawang, Selangor, with a leaky ceiling for RM150 a month.

Four of her children, aged between eight and 13, are forced to study with just one fluorescen­t lamp.

Three other children, aged between 14 and 18, were forced to drop out of school after Primary Three due to financial difficulti­es.

Kasthuri sells jasmine flowers every Tuesday and Friday to earn RM30 daily, while the Social Welfare Department gives her RM450 monthly, which she uses to buy milk and school supplies.

He also shared a picture of an MRI scan, which led many fans to believe he has a brain tumour.

Although he hasn’t revealed what is wrong with him, Nazim thanked his fans for their encouragem­ent and said he was undergoing treatment for his illness.
