Woman bites car thief to protect child

A WOMAN bit a man to prevent him from stealing her car and kidnapping her year-old daughter, Harian Metro reported.

The woman known as Sharifah, in her 30s, said three men in a white car parked beside her car just as she left a convenienc­e store in Ampang on Monday.

“I didn’t suspect anything and opened the back door of my car to put my daughter in the child seat,” she said.

As she was about to get into the driver’s seat, a man from the car rushed to her and slammed the door at her. He then reached for her car keys and tried to drag her away.

Desperate and thinking of her daughter’s safety, she bit his hand, and cried for help.

The man panicked before getting into his car and driving away.

Berita Harian reported. The man was trying to sell the outfits worth RM35,000 to a buyer on Saturday but both were arrested by the police.

Kerian police chief Supt Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said the man was arrested after his tenant lodged a police report.

Local firemen said Mohd Hasyir Sunoto, 26, and Serrel Loki, 23, were on the Taman Jaya Diri hill to enjoy the Sunday sunset.

“This was the third time they went up the hill this year.

“Usually they would come down latest by 4pm, but this time they descended at about 6.30pm,” said Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue operations commander Kamaruddin Sabanah.

One of the two men then called the fire department on his phone.

Kamaruddin said the two men were found at about 8pm, about 500m from the foot of the hill.
