STUDENTS of a private institution located in Shah Alam, were given a real treat when they met a CEO from one of the nation’s top national entities.
KDU University College’s School of Business hosted the event called “The Edge Billion Ringgit Club – Meet the CEO” session with Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus who is the managing director and CEO of Petronas Dagangan Bhd, the domestic marketing arm of Petronas.
Students had the opportunity to engage him on his strategies, outlook and thoughts in helming a large corporation during the event held at KDU’s Utropolis Campus.
This event is part of KDU’s initiative to expose students to captains of industries who can provide them with invaluable insight into various industries’ current development.
It is also in line with the new CEO Faculty Programme introduced through the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015 to 2025 (Higher Education) under the Education Ministry.
Studies have proven that graduates with an entrepreneurial mind have bold and daring qualities, and are able to make breakthroughs during times of difficulty.
Mohd Ibrahimnuddin spoke on his experiences in Petronas. He also spoke on the economic changes in the surrounding environment and the challenges he faced.
The 51-year-old also stressed on the important qualities of an entrepreneurial student, which include the determination to succeed and not letting failures hinder their goals and ambitions.
“In my journey to become a CEO, I failed many times but I did not give up.
“You will fail and there is no easy path to success, but don’t give up. There is always room for improvement,” he said.
Mohd Ibrahimnuddin has been serving as Petronas Dagangan Bhd CEO, managing director and executive director since February 2014.
He has been with Petronas for 27 years and held several senior management positions prior to his current appointment.
