KUALA LUMPUR: A flasher chose the wrong victim when a girl and her friends turned on him instead.

The 19-year-old retail assistant was waiting at a bus stop in Jalan Ayer Jerneh, Setapak, on Friday while her two friends were in a shop across the road.

According to the police, a man rode his motorcycle towards the bus stop at 11.45am, then got off and sat next to the victim.

Everything seemed normal at first until the girl looked over to find that the man had unzipped his pants and was exposing his penis to her.

“She shouted and got up but the suspect grabbed her by the breasts,” said Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi.

The frightened girl struggled with the pervert while other people at the bus stop fled because of the commotion.

The girl managed to break free and sprinted towards the shop where her friends were, while the man chased after her.

The tables were turned when her shouts attracted the attention of her friends and bystanders, who all started chasing the man, said Supt Roy.

The suspect jumped on his motorcycle and tried to flee, but in his haste, he was hit by a car and fell. With the mob approaching, he fled on foot, abandoning his motorcycle.

Though traumatised, the victim was unhurt. When she regained her composure, she wheeled the suspect’s motorcycle to the Wangsa Maju police station where she lodged a report.

“From the registration plate, we have identified the man, and will be paying him a visit very soon,” said Supt Roy.
