an g flying at DAP talk
JOHOR BARU: A ruckus broke out among a group of people during a talk by the DAP at a coffee shop in Taman Megah Ria, Seri Alam, here.
The talk, which started at around 1pm yesterday, was attended by several DAP leaders, including party adviser Lim Kit Siang and Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong.
Liew was criticising the Government when a man walked into the packed coffee shop and allegedly warned the Kluang MP and other DAP leaders to leave the premises.
After a brief exchange of words, both Liew and Lim agreed to leave but were blocked by a group of people, who hurled vulgarities at them.
Some even threw a broom and glasses and cups as well besides flipping some of the tables.
Following the ruckus, some DAP supporters and policemen at the scene formed a human barricade to shield Lim into his waiting car. The senior politician is believed to be unhurt.
Later on Facebook, Liew urged Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also Pasir Gudang Umno chief, to take responsibility, claiming that the incident involved his division members.
He also called on the Johor police chief to arrest those involved.
Seri Alam deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Norazam Saari said a statement would be issued soon.
