T-Team skipper Oniya finally laid to rest

SEREMBAN: The remains of the late T-Team skipper David Faramola Oniya was buried at the Sikamat Christian Cemetery here at 11.30am on Saturday.

The hearse, carrying his remains from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, arrived at the cemetery at 11am where about 20 of his team-mates and players from other teams were waiting to pay their last respects.

Oniya’s elder brother, Adefaramade Oniya, 34, and his agent, Felix Obina, 31, and the T-Team management were also present.

Oniya, 30, died of heart complications on June 13 and his remains were at the Raja Perempuan Zainab 11 Hospital in Kota Baru, Kelantan.

Adefaramade said all the funeral arrangements were made and financed by the T-Team management and the state government of Terengganu with the cooperation of the Nigerian embassy in Kuala Lumpur. – Bernama
