A MAN allegedly punched his 83-year-old father because the older man did not buy him a packet of rice, Metro A had reported.

In the 11am incident here on Friday, the older man was eating rice alone in his living room when his 42-year-old son, who had just woken up, asked him if there was any rice for him.

When the father told the son that he had only bought rice for himself and his three grandchildren, he became angry.

Quoting a source, the report said the two argued over the matter, resulting in the son punching his father’s face multiple times.

The father then ordered his son to leave the house and later made a police report at the Hulu Kelang police station.

The son was arrested a few hours later near his house.

> The daily also reported about a man who had beaten his wife to death in Sibu, Sarawak, after claiming that she was possessed.
