Great offers await visitors to FitForLife Penang
PETALING JAYA: Getting fit can be fun, and the good folks at Great Eastern Life want to show the public at the upcoming FitForLife Penang that healthy living is definitely not boring.
The company is partnering Star Media Group to bring the fair to Penang for the second time.
“As Malaysians are becoming increasingly health conscious, we want to encourage them to adopt a holistic approach towards health, taking into account physical and mental health, emotional wellbeing and financial wellness,” said Great Eastern Life director and chief executive officer Datuk Koh Yaw Hui.
He added that the company was “pleasantly surprised last year” to see the huge turnout of about 15,000 people at the fair, with the majority being the young.
FitForLife Penang is an extension of the popular FitForLife Kuala Lumpur, and is championed by Great Eastern Life as part of its Live Great programme.
Koh said the continued collaboration was a result of the collective vision in realising a fit and healthy Malaysia.
“This year’s theme is Get Fit, Live Great and Have Fun. It is to prove that fitness can be a fun activity,” he said.
Activities lined up for this year include the Live Great Wall Challenge, where visitors can test their dexterity and upper body strength on several indoor wall faces.
“Mental health is also important, so visitors can also expect the Great AMAZEing Challenge, an escape room puzzle attraction that tests problem-solving skills,” said Koh.
The Live Great Dodgeball Tournament, which was a hit in last year’s fair, will make a comeback and the public can join the open category to compete for cash prizes.
Visitors can also look forward to a diverse range of fitness, health and lifestyle products and services, and all the latest trends from diet to nutrition, exercise, stress management, beauty and more.
Koh targets 20,000 visitors to the three-day fair, saying it will appeal to people from all walks of life.
FitForLife Penang will be held at the SPICE Arena, Bayan Lepas from Oct 14 to Oct 16.
It will be open from 10am to 7pm and admission is free.
