SINGER and actress Ayda Jebat fell sick while shooting a movie at Lake Rotorua, New Zealand, due to the cold weather, Kosmo! reported.

In a picture posted on her Instagram account on Monday, Ayda – whose real name is Nur Suhada Jebat – was seen resting.

The caption said she was having a fever after she could not take the sudden change in temperature of between 10˚C and 15˚C in New Zealand.

Ayda, 24, said that although she was still weak, she remained in high spirits and would continue working. She urged her fans not to worry too much about her health.

“The production crew of Pinjamkan Hatiku has been taking good care of me and my condition has improved.”

Ayda and the crew departed for New Zealand on July 25, to continue shooting scenes for the film directed by Osman Ali.

The romantic film, which is expected to be screened at year end, also features two other popular actors, Farid Kamil and Shaheizy Sam.

> Some 157 passengers bound for Langkawi had an anxious moment when the engine of ferry they were on started emitting thick smoke, Sinar Harian reported.

It had just departed the Kuala Kedah jetty when the incident happened at about 5pm on Monday.

Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd (Kuala Kedah) operations officer Abd Manaf Zainon said the vessel had moved about 20m from the jetty when it was engulfed in smoke.

“It appears there was a leak in the enginefuel line; thankfully there was no fire.

“The ferry returned to the jetty and within half an hour, all the passengers were transferred to another vessel,” Abd Manaf said.

He added that the number of ferries plying between Kuala Kedah and Pulau Langkawi was more than enough to meet demand.

“I was at work in Sungai Besi at that time and I only found out about the fire when my neighbours phoned me.

“There’s nothing left. We are homeless,” she said, holding the charred biscuit tin.

The fire broke out at Kampung Pandan Dalam, Ampang, at about 12.30pm on Tuesday. Four houses, including a car and a motorcycle, were destroyed in the 12.30pm fire.
