Help for family living in jungle shed

-

TELUK Kemang MIC members are reaching out to bring cheer to an Indian couple in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, who are living with their four daughters in a shed in a jungle, Makkal Osai reported.

The couple, in their mid-30s and their daughters aged between nine and 18, are staying in a wooden house in the jungle that borders an oil palm plantation in Lukut.

Without electricity, the school-going girls have to resort to doing their homework by candle light. The family also has to remain vigilant against wild animals.

They were forced to move into the former temporary plantation worker’s quarters after being evicted from their home.

The husband suffers from seizures and had to stop working, while his wife only makes a meagre income from collecting fruits.

The Teluk Kemang MIC members visited them with groceries and household items, vowing to move the family to a safer home.
