No enthusiasm for school roles

- LONG TSE MING Kuala Lumpur

IT was not so long ago when students would fight tooth and nail for the opportunity to be a class monitor, let alone a prefect or even a committee member in their societies. Youngsters nowadays, however, seem to view these responsibilities as a nuisance.

Rather than taking the opportunity to gain experience as a leader, they see it as a waste of time

This mentality is the norm nowadays. Parents should encourage their children to participate as leaders in their schools, no matter how small the role.
